About

Dr Ker Khor Jia is a Medical Director and Consultant Dermatologist with more than 12 years of clinical experience in dermatology. She provides care for both adult and paediatric patients, with clinical interests in laser and skin surgery, eczema, autoimmune and immune-related skin disorders, and hair conditions. Dr Ker received advanced training in Singapore and the United States, where she completed her fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2015.

Education and Professional Background

Dr Ker graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she was placed on the Dean’s List. She obtained Membership with the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and completed her specialist dermatology training at the National Skin Centre (NSC) in Singapore. She later pursued fellowship training in the United States at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, gaining experience in complex dermatologic and paediatric skin disorders.

Clinical Experience

At the National Skin Centre, Dr Ker served as Deputy Head of the Immunodermatology Unit and core clinician in the Paediatric Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, and Laser Surgery Units. She has also served as Visiting Consultant to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and is currently a Visiting Consultant to Kandang Kerbau Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKWCH). Her dedication to patient service was recognised through the NSC Service Champion Award in 2017.

Research and Teaching

Dr Ker has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed journals and dermatology textbooks and has presented at local and international conferences. She has served as a Core Tutor for the NUS undergraduate dermatology programme, receiving the National Healthcare Group Teaching Award for Junior Clinicians in 2014. She is a Member of the Dermatological Society of Singapore, Instructor for the Dermatological Society Aesthetic Practice Competency Course, and a member of the Rheumatologic Dermatology Society (USA), Society for Pediatric Dermatology (USA), and Medical Dermatology Society (USA).

Community and Personal Interests

Dr Ker actively participates in community health initiatives, including health screenings with MINDS (Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore) and Tzu Chi Free Clinics. She has also joined overseas medical missions to Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka, reflecting her commitment to accessible dermatologic care. Her humanitarian work was recognised with the Healthcare Humanity Award in 2017.
